Bill to end ‘endo’ in gov’t filed

Progressive lawmakers at the House of Representatives called the Makabayan bloc filed, on Monday, a bill that seeks to ban all forms of labor contractualization in government institutions, two years after President Rodrigo Duterte failed to fulfill his campaign promise to end "endo" or "end of contract" among non-regular workers.

Jesuit-run school heads appeal to gov’t to hasten passage of BBL

Heads of Jesuit-run schools in the Philippines have called on the government to hasten the passage of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) as Philippine lawmakers have announced that the draft legislation will be passed before Pres. Rodrigo Duterte would give his State of the Nation Address (Sona) this July.

Duterte still obligated to cooperate with ICC investigation despite withdrawal

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared the Philippines' withdrawal from the Rome Statute, a treaty which established the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is currently conducting a preliminary examination into the Duterte administration’s bloody war on drugs.
