Davao on lockdown: Sara Duterte tells public to stay at home

With the declaration of Martial Law in the island of Mindanao, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio advised Dabawenyos to remain indoors as much as possible as the entire city is on lockdown amid security threats.

Martial Law up in Mindanao as Moro rights group opposes Duterte’s declaration

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to fly in from Moscow, Russia sooner than expected as he placed the whole island of Mindanao under Martial Law following clashes between government troops and suspected local terrorist group in Marawi City on Tuesday, May 23. Duterte is in Russia for a four-day state visit.
