Duterte on Surigao mining: ‘I will shut them all’

President Rodrigo Duterte said that he would not interfere with the decision of Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Gina Lopez to close various mines in Surigao del Norte.

Surigao quake prompts NPA to declare ceasefire

The New People’s Army in Northeastern Mindanao declared a unilateral ceasefire in Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Norte following the severe damage brought by the 6.7 intensity earthquake on Friday night, Feb. 10.
