Felix Alicer, Regional Coordinator of Program Monitoring Coordination Center (PMCC)- National Task Force Diwalwal says the number of population of residents around the areas for small scale mining operations has decreased since residents get lower income because of lesser mining activities. More than a hundred Lumad students and teachers from the provinces of Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley set up makeshift tents in front of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Panacan, Davao City to call on President Rodrigo Duterte to stop Martial Law.
