‘Surrender or die’: AFP warns ISIS-linked Maute terrorists in Marawi

“We call on the remaining terrorists to surrender while there is an opportunity.” This was the statement issued by Armed Forces of the Philippines Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla on Tuesday as he called on the remaining terrorists of the Islamic State-linked Maute group to surrender to the military authorities.

Army spox: too early to tell if Martial Law will be extended

Martial Law spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said the military and the police are "in complete control" of the situation in Marawi City, but declined to speculate whether or not 60 days of Martial Law will be enough.

It was perpetrated by an extremist group that uses murder, hatred and destruction to propagate its ideology of religious intolerance. This violence is not confined to Marawi but increasingly threatens all the peoples of Mindanao-Sulu.

Martial Law in Mindanao: AFP’s intrusion, threats vs. Comval banana workers slammed

KMU reported that government soldiers belonging to the Army’s 66th Infantry Battalion “forcibly occupied and camped” inside the Shin Sun packing plant on May 26, two days after the imposition of Martial Law. The soldiers had also “barged in the picket line” of striking Shin Sun workers just outside the banana plantation.
