Students to hold “Enviro Camp” in Kapalong

KAPALONG, Davao del Norte—More than 200 students of private and public secondary schools here will join the YES-O summer festival dubbed as “Enviro Camp” slated on April 3-5, 2014 to be held in Suaon, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

The “Enviro Camp” is a three-day event focused on “environmental and tourism” development which aims to raise the awareness regarding the conservation, protection and restoration of the environment.

A total of 12 secondary schools will join the activity and participants will be immersed in Barangay Suaon, a thriving tourism community known for different bat caves.

Various activities were prepared to drum up discussions on environmental issues and concerns, essay and poetry writing, painting, dance rituals, caving tour and cave clean-up drive, among others.

Kapalong Municipal Information Office said the YES-O activity is supported by the local government of Kapalong, Department of Education, Municipal Tourism Council, Davao Speleological and Conservation Society, DENR, Barangay government of Suaon and the provincial government of Davao del Norte.
