The peasant group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas said the country will only gain war, not freedom and independence as the US continue to step on the Philippines’national sovereignty.
“Kasagaran sa mga mag-uuma, inutang ang yuta, mangutang pa og pestisidyo pati similya. Pero pag ibaligya ila produkto, barato ra. Pag sila na ang mopalit, mahal na kaayo (Most farmers rent their lands, borrow pesiticides and seedlings. But when they sell their product, it’s cheap. When they buy the product, it's expensive),” Arnado said
Timed for the 27th year commemoration of the Mendiola massacre on January 22, militant farmers demanded that Pres. Aquino should be ousted for his “incompetence and anti-farmer stance.”
