FLAG RAISING. Members of the media were forced to stop at army and police checkpoints on three separate occasions Thursday after covering the 45th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

Communists criticized the Armed Forces of the Philippines over its remarks on why the Communist Party of the Philippines declared a short ceasefire, and also slammed the army for violating their own ceasefire.
A “special investigating body” of the “Compostela Valley People’s Democratic Government” has recommended “an order for the immediate arrest and commencement of the trial” of 23 respondents composed of army, police and government civilian personnel implicated in the “murder” of Roque Antivo.
