Mayor Rodrigo Dutere need not make the public wait until August 13 to announce that Kadayawan will push through with more security forces deployed in the city.
The Aquino government knows the bombers and intends to come up with measures such as a reward system to go after the suspects, and “target hardening” action by state security.
But with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s plan of calling off the festival due to security threats, the deputy mayors would have to make do with less festivities this year.

Davao has now 130 surveillance cameras installed around the city as part of the authorities’ measures to monitor safety, disaster and crime.
