Militant youth groups marched to EDSA today to call on President Aquino to step down for “betraying the nation when he ordered the offensive that killed at least 69 Filipinos.”
Members of Anakbayan unfurled streamers on the People Power Monument saying “Game Over, Noynoy” and displayed images of blood-stained yellow ribbons, icon of the 1986 uprising which catapulted the president’s mother to power.
Vencer Crisostomo, chairperson of Anakbayan, said “a transition council could take over to pave the way for meaningful reforms and fair elections.”
Crisostomo called on youth and students to walkout and march to Malacanang on February 27.
The groups also said that Malacañang is trying to cover-up and whitewash Aquino’s criminal accountability in the Mamasapano offensive.
