DAVAO CITY – The Party-list group Anakpawis said it is wary with the appointment of former acting Department of Justice secretary, Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa as associate justice of the Supreme Court.
Anakpawis Partylist Rep.Fernando Hicap said that they cannot expect Caguioa, who was a classmate of President Benigno Aquino III from grade school to college at the Ateneo de Manila University, “to side with the people’s issue which includes the Disbursement Acceleration Program, the constitutionality of Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement, which again will be contested at the SC and future complaints against Aquino when he steps down as president.”
He said “Caguioa is just going to be Aquino government’s inside man and lackey in the High Court.”
“He cannot practice fair judgment because of his close working relation with Aquino,” Hicap added.(davaotoday.com)
