BOAO, China — Deals amounting to close to $2 billion in Chinese investments in the Philippines are expected to be signed during President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?s short and abbreviated attendance at the 2007 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) which kicked off Friday in this scenic coastal town off China?s southernmost province of Hainan.

Cesar Montano Urges Lyceum Grads to Use Talents to Serve Philippines

MANILA — Lakas-CMD and Team Unity Senatorial candidate Cesar Montano urged the graduating class of Lyceum of the Philippines to use their talents and educational know-how to uplift the conditions of the majority of the people. Speaking yesterday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) for the 57th commencement exercises of his alma mater where he studied civil engineering, Montano used his own life history as an example to encourage the graduates to ?aim high.? He said that one lesson that he learned from his lawyer-father is ?to be able to get the eagle, aim for the sky.?
