Satur to push P10-B fund for elderly’s mandatory health insurance

Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo today vowed to push for mandatory health
insurance for all Filipino senior citizens in the next Congress.

“Filipino senior citizens deserve to obtain mandatory health insurance
after offering most of their lives to helping uplift their families
and the nation,” said Ocampo, himself a senior citizen who turned 68
on Saturday.

Davao’s Organic Farmers Rally for Concrete Support

Organic producers in Davao City are saying that the support shown to them by the city government is sending them a mixed feeling of happiness and hope.

For the past many years, organic farmers have been left out of the picture of government agricultural priorities as the thriving market for synthetic agri-chemicals and other inputs have allegedly been benefiting even the agencies concerned with farming like the Department of Agriculture.

Philippines: Halal certifying body for Region 12 opened

GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? Two local executives in Central Mindanao lauded the setting up of Mindanao Halal Authority (Minha), Inc. here Wednesday.

Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr. was optimistic the establishment of Halal certifying body in the city would further boost the local economy, particularly fishing industry and other firms involved in food processing.
