Comelec exec green lights Lanao Norte plebiscite despite blasts

Authorities have urged the people of this province to go out and vote whether six of Lanao del Norte’s towns will be included in the new Bangsamoro region despite the explosions that occurred in three towns Monday, the eve of the Feb. 6 plebiscite.

Muslim, Christian groups call for unity amid bombings in Mindanao

Christian and Muslim leaders based here came together in time for the World Interfaith Harmony Week to renounce the recent bombings in some parts of Mindanao as they urged the people to unite in the face of violence which many feared was aimed at sowing sectarian discord.

Lanao del Norte officials reiterate stand on BOL ahead of Feb. 6 plebiscite

The local government officials of Lanao del Norte has reiterated their opposition ahead of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite in the province on Feb. 6 as their people will decide on the inclusion of six municipalities to a new political entity that will be formed to replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
