Mindanao Catholic leaders express support for BOL

Days before the plebiscite for the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), several Catholic church leaders from Mindanao express support for its passage as they say this may be "the last concrete chance for peace in Mindanao."

Jan. 21 plebiscite day on BOL declared a non-working holiday in ARMM

President Rodrigo Duterte declared Jan.21 as a special non-working holiday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Isabela City in Basilan, and Cotabato City to give way for the coming first plebiscite to ratify the proposed Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

ACT members, lawyers slam continuing profiling despite PNP chief denial

The profiling of teachers associated with Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) by the Philippine National Police (PNP) apparently continued, with reports of a similar letter coming from the local police asking for a list of teachers who are members of ACT in Northern Mindanao.

Sen. Trillanes faces Davao court, tells accusers to prepare for challenges

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, on Monday, told Presidential son Paolo Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte's husband, Atty. Maneses Carpio to better be ready in also facing “challenges”, as he pleaded not guilty, on Tuesday, to the four libel cases lodged against him by the two in a local court here.
