He also added that his department is now finalizing plans to upgrade its educational facilities, to provide more review materials, and to improve its curriculum.

Now on its third batch of graduates in the said course, JPIICD has already produced nine geodetic engineers, two of which including Gaborne made it to the top 10.

It can be recalled that during the first batch in 2005, Engr. Pijie Piero, now teaching in his alma mater, also landed the 4th place in the 2005 geodetic licensure exam.

Mr. Ernie Evangelista, the college president, said that to intensify the administrations commitment of providing excellent quality education to its students, a 7-storey building will be constructed.

This is our way of saying we love and care for you, the president said as he announced the good news of Gabornes success during the ground breaking ceremony.

Archbishop Fernando R. Capalla of Davao led the ground breaking ceremony after the Mass he presided last September 28, in which he emphasized that giving quality education is one way of showing authentic love of neighbor.

Gaborne will fly to Manila to take his oath before the Board on Sunday, October 21 at the Manila Hotel.

He said he prefers to practice his second profession as its work entails less complication compared with that of civil engineers.

Kung civil engineer man gud, lisod magdala ug tawo, he said. (As civil engineer, it is difficult for me to handle people.)

Gaborne is planning to put up a surveying firm here in Davao City, where he noted that there are less surveying offices. He said that the practice of the said profession is not so common in the urban area. (Fr. Rubans with john frances fuentes / dcherald).
