A streamer opposing the planned privatization of the Davao City Water District hangs by the facade of the utility firm along J.P. Laurel Avenue. The company’s union, the Nagkahiusang Mamumuo sa Davao City Water District, held a picket last week not only to demand the implementation of their Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) but also to oppose a 100-million peso loan from the Local Water Utility Administration that they said would lead to the privatization the city’s water system. THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 is urging all small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region to join the upcoming trade fair in New Jersey. The trade fair, tagged as Philippine Fiesta, is slated on Aug. 18 to 19 Meadowlands Exposition Center (MEC) in Secaucus, New Jersey, USA.
