DavSur is fastest growing province in Davao Region—PSA
A 2015 population census showed that Davao del Sur was the fastest growing province in Davao region with an average annual population growth of 1.84 percent.

Councilor orders stringent review of quarry permits
A city councilor here has ordered a stringent review of the quarry permits in the city after what he described as a "monopoly" of quarry operations.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS. Kim Gargar, spokesperson of environmental group Panalipdan said that the implementation of the Davao Coastline and Port Development Project will destroy marine life ecosystems, not only in the areas to be reclaimed, but from the areas where suitable earth materials will be extracted to be used in the reclamation. Groups raise red flags over Mega Harbor project
