BANANA CONGRESS. Rene Delayon of the Federation of Cooperatives in Mindanao announces the organization of the Banana Congress 2016 which will gather the different sectors of the Banana industry to "address every challenge that affects this major dollar-earning industry." The congress will be held on October 6-7, 2016.

The infection by fusarium wilt, popularly known as Panama disease, and the creation of a banana research center, would be major discussion issues in the coming Banana Congress this year, a banana industry leader said.

Only 137 ‘ukay-ukay’ venders allowed in Davao night market

The City Government awarded rights to only 137 venders to resume their ukay-ukay vending along Roxas Avenue here, the designated night market area that was closed last week over alleged violation of city government agreement with them.
