LESSER MINING OPERATIONS. Atty. Felix Alicer, Regional Coordinator of Program Monitoring Coordination Center (PMCC)- National Task Force Diwalwal says the number of population of residents around the areas for small scale mining operations has decreased since residents get lower income because of lesser mining activities. Population in Mt. Diwalwal down to 11,000

The population in Mt. Diwalwal, Monkayo, Compostela Valley province has decreased to about 11,000 compared to the 100,000 recorded since 1980’s when the area was discovered to be a gold rush site, an official said.
