A Global Campaign on Violence Against Children with the theme: Worldwide Day of Action to End Violence Against Children and Corporal Punishment will commence on October 19 this year to remind all nations of its vow to protect and uphold the rights of the children regardless of age, sex, color, religion, ethnicity, race and status.

Duterte wants child-protection law scrapped

Duterte said teenagers today are different from those in the past and, at 15, he believed a boy already has discernment. He also thought the Juvenile Justice Law, which says children below 15 cannot be held criminally liable, is open to abuse -- a lot of criminals could get away with crime because of this, he said. He called the law myopic and impractical.

Hongkong rights group slams Davao for killings

"In Davao City in Mindanao, several corpses were found bearing placards similarly suggesting they that were criminal offenders. What is shocking is the implied acceptance by the authorities and the public regarding this practice without seriously reflecting on the tremendous implications if it is allowed to continue," says the Asian Human Rights Commission.
