DOJ’s proscription meant to harass government critics

The human rights group Karapatan lauded the Manila Regional Trial Court that dropped the names of former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, peace consultant Rafael Baylosis, UN Special Rapporteur Victoria Tauli-Corpuz and lawyer Jose Molintas in the proscription petition filed by the Department of Justice in February 2018.

Gov’t, PNP agree to a military pull-out from IP communities; military refuses to sign accord

Police and local government officials here agreed in a meeting with Lumad leaders for the pullout of military detachment and troops in Lianga town after indigenous people residents evacuated their communities early this month.
