Solon files House resolution to probe Surigao IP leader’s death

A militant lawmaker filed a House resolution seeking to investigate the death of Veronico “Nico” Lapsay Delamente, a 27 year-old Lumad-Mamanwa leader who was killed by two unidentified men in Punta Naga Gymnasium, Barangay Caagdianao at Claver town, Surigao del Norte.

A large-scale nickel mining firm based in Caraga region clarified that Veronico “Nico” Delamente, the Mamanwa tribal leader, who was killed by unknown motorcycle riding gunmen last Jan.20 was not an “anti-mining activist.”
