Population in Mt. Diwalwal down to 11,000

The population in Mt. Diwalwal, Monkayo, Compostela Valley province has decreased to about 11,000 compared to the 100,000 recorded since 1980’s when the area was discovered to be a gold rush site, an official said.

Reds say enabling environment for talks is discussing socio-economic reform

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines reiterated its position that the most conducive environment for the peace negotiations with the government will be provided by discussing social and economic reforms. The NDFP also reiterated its call for the release of political prisoner.
