Bankerohan bridge construction in full swing

INITIATIVE. After almost a year of waiting, Davaoeos are relieved to see that construction works of the Governor Generoso I in Bankerohan. Earlier, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte already gave up on finding funds for the P300 million bridge repair, supposed to be a project of the national government. When Duterte’s political rival, Davao Rep. Prospero Nograles, assumed his post as the new House Speaker, signboards are installed in the project site, saying that the P206.64 million project, made possible through the initiative of the new House Speaker, will be finished on August 14 this year. Is Paolo Duterte campaigning this early?

by
Feb 12, 2008

Early Bird? This barangay ID card, which contains the photo and personal information (such as address, blood type, height, SSS, TIN and contact numbers) of the holder is already being distributed in the city barangays of Catalunan Grande and Wilfredo Aquino. The cards issued to residents include the photo of Paolo Duterte, the president of the Association of Barangay Councils and son of the city mayor. Kadamay, the urban-poor group, urged the young Duterte to recall the ID and stop the implementation of the barangay ID system, saying that it raises privacy concerns and violates civil liberties.
