By MARILOU AGUIRRE-TUBURAN Davao Today In a statement emailed on Wednesday and dated December 5, Ka Oris, spokesperson of NDFP-Mindanao said the ceasefire order given to the New People’s Army in the typhoon-hit areas is meant to “pave the way for a safe, unhampered and speedy rescue of victims, and to conduct a speedy and unhampered relief operations in the affected communities.”

Indonesia, PHL security pact to foil Jemaah Islamiyah — envoy

BASA Davao Today Indonesian Consul General to the Philippines, Eko Hartono, said the latest Philippines-Indonesia Military Cooperation (Philindo MC), which is a joint training of the two countries' air forces, navy and the army is aimed “to fight terrorist groups” known to have been operating in North Sulawesi and Mindanao which are considered a common border to both countries.
