DABAWENYO HERO. One of the recipients of the Everyday Dabawenyo Hero award, Phillip Duterte, is recognized for his dedication in teaching Matigsalug children in Marilog District. He died in 2010 due to sepsis and malaria while he was living with the Matigsalug in their community. The award is given to Dabawenyos who showed integrity and passion in serving those who are in need.
