PDP Laban, Nacionalista Party partners in ‘coalition for change’

DAVAO CITY – Representatives of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) and the Nacionalista Party signed an agreement here on Monday, May 16 for the “Coalition for Change”, saying both parties support President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

After Duterte’s press conference on Monday, here, PDP Laban President Senator Aquilino Pimentel III and former Senator Manuel Villar Jr, president of Nacionalista Party signed the agreement before the members of the media.

The agreement states that “the Program of Government for Change of (President-elect Rodrigo Roa Duterte), needs the cooperation and support not only of his political party, but also of other parties and organization, and ultimately of the Filipino People themselves.”

“Whereas, the PDP LABAN is open to and desirous of entering into a “Coalition for Change” with change-minded political parties,” it said.

The agreement said that both parties “found common principles and objectives” including: adoption of a Federal System of Government; the all-out search for peace in our land; the all-out war against crime, drugs, and corruption; the concern for the welfare of the common man; the adoption of economic policies promoting inclusive growth and prosperity of the Filipino people.” (davaotoday.com)
