13 quakes hit Cotabato town in 24 hours; 5 hurt, 60 houses damaged

According to Jerome Barranco, Assistant Director of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-Office of the Civil Defense in Region XII, 60 houses were destroyed in Kimadsil village alone.

Makabayan supporters hold vigil as canvassing is delayed due to defective CF cards

Canvassing was temporarily stopped due to the malfunctioning compact flash cards and the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines in two clustered precincts of two villages.  The Comelec said they are anticipating for more or less a thousand votes to be canvassed.

Low voters’ turnout feared in Cotabato

Jay Apiag, Kontra Daya coordinator for North Cotabato province said their forecast was due to delays brought about by glitches of PCOS (precinct count optical scan) machines, the heavy rains that started 3 PM Monday and blackouts in the villages of Katipunan and Amas.
