With Covid-19 cases rising, Davao City bans Halloween, Christmas events

Halloween and Christmas parties, including ‘trick-or-treat’ events in public will be prohibited by the city government to prevent the spread and transmission of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Big fishing vessels seen in Davao City’s municipal fishing waters

Some 100 fishermen from the coastal village of Lasang, this city, sought the help of the Sangguniang Panglunsod Tuesday to curb regular encroachment of big vessels in the coastal waters that they claimed has robbed them of their chance to catch fish in this part of the Davao Gulf.

Davao ready for ‘inclusive growth’ but critics doubtful

At the annual regional economic performance report presented by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Statistics Coordination Bureau (NSCB) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the government cited Davao’s “strong” 7.4% growth last year.
