Mayor Rodrigo Dutere need not make the public wait until August 13 to announce that Kadayawan will push through with more security forces deployed in the city.
The Aquino government knows the bombers and intends to come up with measures such as a reward system to go after the suspects, and “target hardening” action by state security.
But with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s plan of calling off the festival due to security threats, the deputy mayors would have to make do with less festivities this year.
With security concerns rising after the spate of bombings around Mindanao, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said there is a possibility of cancelling this year’s Kadayawan Festival and promised to finalize the pronouncement come August 13.
