Only days after the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) was joined by journalists? organisations around the world in demanding the Pakistan government take action to address the appalling press freedom and journalist safety situation, the IFJ is shocked to learn of the murder of a journalist and kidnapping of another in Pakistan.

Greece: Bringing traffickers to justice must not be at the expense of the rights of their victims

Trafficking for forced prostitution in Greece is believed to have increased tenfold in the last 10 years. However, the government has not yet provided sufficient measures to protect and support trafficked women and girls, Amnesty International said today.

IFJ Condemns Conviction of Journalists, Publishing Houses in Ethiopia

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) today condemned the conviction of four journalists and three publishing houses in Ethiopia on charges they attempted to ?dismantle the constitutional system? after they published articles about the anti-government riots in November 2005 that came after elections in the country six months earlier.
