An art installation featuring the collaborative works of renowned Filipina sculptor Aba Lluch Dalena, Imelda Cajipe-Endaya and Lanelle Abueva-Fernando kicked off the commemoration of women’s month at the House of Representatives on Monday.

The installation, dubbed as the “Tree of Justice”, enjoined legislators, employees and guests to pledge and be active partners in the fight against violence against women and children.

Gabriela Women’s Party Representative Luzviminda Ilagan at the exhibit’s opening said, “there is a growing need to have more people involved in creating awareness and evoking action towards putting an end to violence against women and children. The continuing violence against women and children reflects the people’s worsening poverty and a governance of impunity.”

The art installation was organized by the Gabriela Women’s Party, the House of Representatives Committee on Women and Gender Equality, Association of Women Legislators Foundation Inc., and the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc.
