The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) calls for the immediate release of its peace consultant who was “illegally” arrested last Tuesday (Jan.27) in Cabuyao, Laguna.
Chairperson of the NDFP negotiating panel Luis Jalandoni said Reynaldo Hugo has been issued “NDFP Document of Identification ND978239 under the assumed name: “Orgel Dimaano” in accordance with the JASIG (Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees). He has also been issued a corresponding Letter of Acknowledgment signed by then GRP Negotiating Panel Chairperson, Silvestre H. Bello III.”
The NDFP said the government’s “disrespect “of the JASIG and other bilateral peace agreements questions its credibility on the peace negotiations.
