Members of the progressive Makabayan bloc in Congress today called on Pres. Benigno Aquino III to disclose all his mobile text messages and calls to the police commanders during the Mamasapano operations.
They said they want the communications from December 1 last year to January 27 this year.
Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate said that “Pres. Aquino, even in his televised speeches, gave just selected and contrived pieces of facts. He did the same when he showed just the Gen. Napenas’ text message to the families of the slain SAF last week but not the text messages of Gen. Purisima.”
“This shows that there is a conscious effort engineered by Malacanang to shield Pres. Aquino and this should be exposed. Pres. Aquino here is the most accountable because he was the one who approved the operation and authorized Gen. Purisima to command the operation even when he was suspended,” said Zarate.
