DAVAO CITY – Provincial Director Police Senior Supt. Samuel Gadingan revealed Wednesday that they have already identified suspects who are possible members of a group involved in robbery incidents in Davao del Norte.
Speaking before media, Gadingan said they are now investigating robbery incidents in New Corella and Tagum City which are the handiwork of only one group.
“Napapansin namin na parang iisang group ang tumira at saka may persons of interest na kami. This we cannot divulge because we are on a follow-up (We notice that this could be a work of one group and we already have persons of interest),” said Gadingan.
“Actually it’s not an organized group but these are groups that thrive on robbery. Ito yong nanghoholdap ng mga panel, ng mga kolektor ng lending institution, iyong mga private lending institution (They are the ones who rob the panel [trucks], collectors of lending institutions, private lending institutions),” he said.
The Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office said they have recorded 78 crimes, 48 of which are index crimes and 30 are non-index crimes, since the end of the Palarong Pambansa last month.
Gadingan however said, the province is “generally peaceful” amidst the recorded crimes adding that the crimes “are negligible”.
