DAVAO CITY – Davao del Norte province won 21 medals during the 2015 Batang Pinoy National Finals held in Cebu City on November 27 to December 2.
The provincial athletes were recognized during the local government’s convocation program Monday.
Provincial Sports Coordinator Giovanni Gulanes said the 34-man team from the province got six golds, five silvers and 10 bronze medals during the national sporting event.
The gold medalists were: Mary Gweneth Lim (Arnis Labanan pinweight category); Harrison Cerillo (Arnis Labanan welterweight category); Noah Gonzales (Arnis Labanan lightweight category); Latrell Andre Dennis Pantastico (Wushu Sanda under 48kg. boys); Ronie Marielle Santiago (Wushu Sanda under 48kg. girls); and Kyle Cielo Bernaldez (Table Tennis singles girls).
The silver medalists were: Geroge Neri Jr (Arnis Labanan flyweight category), Louis Jude Andrae Dumdum (Taekwondo Bantamweight), Kenneth Telin (Kata Novice Boys), and Jhon Rafael Lamatan, (Shot Put Track and Field event), and Vince Carl Seismundo and Kyle Cielo Bernaldez (Table Tennis mixed doubles).
Meanwhile, the bronze medalists were Jay Mabanag (Arnis Labanan bantamweight category), Kate Diane Faelogo (Anyo Solo Baston and Arnis Labanan flyweight category), Ron Japeth Mena (Wushu Sanda under 48kg. boys), Philip Jacob Taganas (Wushu Sanda under 48kg. boys), Christian Rhyan Chung (Taekwondo heavyweight boys), Giery Mei Amodia (Lightweight girls), Ileana Vanessa Edna Fuentes (Welterweight girls) and Lei Anne Frances Naval (Flyweight girls), and Marjore Ledesma (Kata girls).
