Following the issuance of Executive Order 275 which calls for an independent commission to oversee the dismantling of private armies in Maguindanao and other hotspots in the country, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has named the members who will comprise the independent body.
But it should be the President who should be investigated first by the members of the commission, said Mario Maximo “Dodong” Solis in his editorial broadcast “Straight to the Point” on Radio Mindanao Network.
Solis said the biggest warlords in the country are those who run the government. He said high government officials are the ones who also control the biggest private army, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, responsible for the long list of extrajudicial killings in the country.
