Prominent leaders from progressive organizations expressed fears over the subsequent scenario that may arise after the killings of two political campaigners even as they also hinted that the victims may have been merely used as sacrificial lambs.
Noting that poll-related killing or violence doesn’t exist in the recent history of Davao City politics, Gabriela Partylist Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan and Philippine Independent Church (PIC) Bishop Felixberto Calang expressed fears over the implication of the twin brutal murders.
They were referring to the recent discovery and retrieval of dead bodies of two Bantay Partylist campaigners Juliana Noquera and an unidentified former military man, who were summarily executed.
The victims, who were members of Bantay Partylist and supporters of retired General Jovito Palparan, were abducted in Calinan on March 24. Their bodies were later found on March 26 in separate areas outside Davao City. Continue reading
