MANILA — Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Q. Pimentel, Jr.
(PDP-Laban) scored top officials of the state-owned
National Power Corporation (Napocor) for their failure
to stock up enough coal to meet higher fuel demand
power generation during the summer months when its
hydroelectric plants are shut down due to low water
levels in dams, lakes and rivers.

son of press freedom icon Joe Burgos has become the latest casualty of
military-instigated abductions of social activists.
Ocampo urged the military abductors to surface Jonas Joseph Burgos who
has been missing since Saturday April 28.

U2 confirmed to contribute exclusive track to album
Green Day will release a cover version of John Lennon?s ?Working Class Hero? on Tuesday 1 May. The track, which features a sample of Lennon?s original vocal, was recorded exclusively for the forthcoming Make Some Noise album for Amnesty International and will be available as a download from the iTunes store and other music sites.

NANJING — How good are China-Japan relations today? So good that the museum here to commemorate the 1937 massacre by Japanese Imperial Army soldiers is closed for renovation. That?s remarkable since this is the 70th anniversary of the massacre and criticism of historical revisionism of Japan has been a staple of Chinese diplomacy for the past few years.
