With security measures in place for the Kadayawan Festival, folks told Davao Today they were split between joining and staying home for the festivities.

US wanted old Davao airport as drones HQ

City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte revealed that on several occasions, the United States government had sought his permission to make use of the old Davao Airport as a station for its drones or spy planes.

As deadly bombings rock Mindanao, Duterte mulls calling off Kadayawan

With security concerns rising after the spate of bombings around Mindanao, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said there is a possibility of cancelling this year’s Kadayawan Festival and promised to finalize the pronouncement come August 13.
