The country’s leading steel manufacturing company, Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation, opened its biggest plant in the Mindanao Island here in Davao City, in its bid to capture the infrastructure and construction boom in the island.
The Mindanao Leaders’ Summit on Federalism held last Monday at the Grand Men Seng Hotel gathered some 100 Mindanao political and sectoral leaders supporting the call for a change to a federal system of government.
Most cases of violence against women reported in Davao City were economic abuses, or depriving of financial support or opportunity to work for women.
