NPAs disarm PNP municipal station in Sta. Josefa, Agusan

Jul. 04, 2009

The 4th Pulang Bagani Company (4th PBC) of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Southern Mindanao successfully disarmed the Philippine National Police (PNP) municipal station in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur on July 1 at 8:30 in the morning.

During the 10-minute raid-disarming operation, the NPA confiscated eight firearms. Among these were three M16 armalites, an M14 rifle, three .45 calibre pistol and a 9mm pistol. Ammunitions and other PNP paraphernalia were also confiscated.

Not a single shot was fired as the PNP municipal station was quickly neutralized. Once again, this tactical offensive shows that the NPA’s sole target is the firearms that would further strengthen the revolutionary fighters. Nobody from the enemy’s side would become casualties if they will not resist NPA offensives; this is because the NPA adheres to the International Humanitarian Law concerning hors de combat.

This tactical offensive serves as a punishment against the armed forces of the vicious and corrupt Arroyo government, which is now preparing to remain in power via the Constitutional Assembly or Con-Ass.

Further, this is to sustain the initiative held by the NPA which is launching a guerrilla warfare versus the enemies whose Oplan Bantay Laya 2 suffered defeat due to widespread and intensified tactical offensives in an ever-widening and deepening mass base.
