DAVAO CITY — Davao City sets another first in coming up with a fully-equipped country club with different sports facilities for each member of the family.

Rancho Palos Verdes Country Club, a 60-hectare project developed by the Sta. Lucia Realty and Development Inc. (SLRDI), is soon to open and boost tourism in the city.

It is Spanish Mediterranean themed and designed by the country’s well-known architects of WV Coscuella and Associates. The clubhouse is located inside Davao Riverfront Corporate City in Ma-a Diversion Road.

Local partner of SLRDI and at the same time Presidential Adviser on Special Projects Madeline Marfori said that this development signals another boost for local tourism.

This only shows that Davao has so much to offer and that in this time of crisis and is the perfect place to invest in,” she said.

The country club offers unlimited use of a uniquely designed beach type swimming pool and sports facilities like an indoor basketball court, tennis court, badminton court, a billiard hall, and an 8-lane 10-pin bowling alley. Plans also include a fitness gym, fine dining restaurant and a function hall.

The country club is intentionally built for exclusive members and families of the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf Club. However, Marfori said that they are opening the place to non-members for 3 to 6 months.

“We want Davaoenos to also try and experience the facility.”, she said.

SLRDI also announced that it is planning to put up a condominium within the Riverfront Corporate City where a school, a residential area, and the sports and country club have already been situated.

SLRDI and the Dizon Family has envisioned this corporate city as a community where all the needed establishments are all located in one area. (PIA XI)
