Duterte slams “God’s antiquated policy” on population

Davao city Mayor Rodrigo Duterte defended the revised Local Development Plan for Children (LDPC) against objections raised by the Catholic Church to the city’s reproductive health and safe pregnancy program. “God’s policy is antiquated and it cannot help the people who are reeling from poverty,” Duterte said during his weekly television program Gikan sa Masa para sa Masa.

The State of the City

On the 71st Araw ng Dabaw, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte refrained from giving the state of the city address, usually done by mayors in the past to apprise the citizens of the state of the city. Instead, he gave the opportunity to leaders and personalities representing the lumads, Moro, students (each from the elementary and high school), teachers, business, media, partylist groups and others to tell their story and assess the city’s performance.
