Right after grabbing a cup of coffee; I make rounds in my newly established backyard garden to kick-off my day. It is a warm and pleasant sunny day here in the valley, the sun said: Hello! PH rice importation policy in shambles

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who appeared before the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food hearing Monday said the current state policy on importation of rice does not benefit the Filipino farmers.

Ban on GMO crops, subsidy for ‘healthy’ agriculture sought

“Is government going to subsidize (co-existence), or rather spend it in producing better or safer products? That’s the question. Maybe we can have healthier products with lower price if it subsidizes agriculture that is more sustainable, rather than spending on co-existence. It’s the discussion everyone should have," said TWN scientist Camilo Beltran.
