Greenpeace Hits DA for Flip-Flop on GMO Corn

The environment group Greenpeace today lambasted the Department of Agriculture for allegedly flip-flopping on an earlier order revoking the authorization for the use of a genetically modified corn called MON863, which the group has found to be toxic. Mindanao is the country’s largest corn producer where many of these GMOs have been cultivated.

Davao’s ‘Green Vote’ Hopes to Make a Difference

Although the Green Vote campaign recognizes Davao City’s efforts to protect the environment, the groups behind it insist more drastic actions are needed to realize these goals. Good governance, they say, plays a key role in protecting the environment. They blame corruption for much of the environmental destruction.

Willie Nep Show in Davao Slated

DAVAO CITY — Clean Cities Davao Coalition, a multisectoral group that aims to promote the use of clean alternative fuels, will be bringing top comedic impersonator Willie Nepumoceno to Davao City for a comedy concert show.

The show, entitled ?All of Me,? which will be held this March 31 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, will feature Nepumoceno in his favor caricature of roles that has made him famous. Among his spoofs include the striking portrayal of country?s leaders like the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, Erap Estrada and Fidel Ramos. He is also known for portraying Dolphy, Gringo Honasan Ping Lacson, Kuya Germs, Nur Misuari among many others.
