Groups slam gov’t for failure to address HR violations under martial law

Cases of human rights violations continue to pile up two years after martial law was declared in Mindanao resulting from the conflict in Marawi City that flared up on May 23, 2017, that ran for several months, civil society organizations said Friday.

The close to a dozen container vans that arrived from Australia early this month were not toxic garbage but processed materials which will be used as fuel for a cement company’s manufacturing plants, said the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Thursday.
