Countless in the country heaved a sigh of relief after the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda’s request on June 14 for a judicial authorization to proceed with an investigation on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s ‘’war on drugs’’ that killed thousands since 2016.

Bodies of slain lumad almost beyond recognition

Angel Rivas’ body, the 12-year old girl, was wrapped in plastic and tape. Her face down to her neck were filled with stitches to hold together her disfigured face. Lenie’s body also bore stitches all over while Willy’s legs were plastered with packaging tape to cover the frightful sight of fractures.

Davao region a deadly ground for peasants, IPs

Human rights group Karapatan on Tuesday demanded justice to all peasants who continue to fell victims of violence and political killings in the country, as the group marked the 32nd year commemoration of the bloody Mendiola Massacre.
