All-out war in Mindanao prelude to more US military intervention — Bayan

DAVAO CITY – The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan in Southern Mindanao today
concludes that the recent military clashes in Basilan and Sulu are
prelude to wider US military intervention in Mindanao.

“A research group, Focus on the Global South, and a photo taken by
Agence France Press showing US military personnel in an AFP convoy
going to Basilan only confirmed that conflict in Mindanao serves the
US military interest.” Frankie del Rosario, spokesperson of Bayan-SMR
said.

NPA in ComVal vows to free captured soldier

The New People's Army in Southern Mindanao, in a statement sent to the media on Monday, said it will release a soldier it captured during an ambush last Aug. 10 in Monkayo town, Compostela Valley province. The soldier, it said, will be freed because he had not committed "crimes against the people."

Davao Oriental SME wins at Yamang Mindanao

DAVAO CITY — A small and medium enterprise (SME) in Davao Oriental outwitted the other participants of the 2nd Yamang Mindanao as it bagged the Best Dressed Booth award for the Individual Category.

The Davao Oriental Coco Husk Social Enterprise, Inc. (DOCHSEI), producer of coco coir-based products in the Municipality of San Isidro, has been given the citation due to the simplicity and uniqueness of its booth design.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has proven again how she would take extra miles to perpetuate her regime in power. The midnight railroading of the Human Security Act (HSA) will give further license to her regime’s fascist armed forces, paramilitary, and police to violate human rights with impunity.
